Piattelli Vineyards makes a large investment in a wastewater treatment system

Piattelli Vineyards launches its sustainable irrigation system. The effluents generated at wineries during harvesting, cellaring, and bottling contain a high contaminant burden, meaning that they cannot be discharged without appropriate prior treatment. Generally speaking, wastewater must be treated using a biological process to eliminate the high organic burden contained in it. This investment will ensure that Piattelli Vineyards achieves their goal to recycle 100 percent of the water that comes through their winery while reducing energy consumption by up to 70%.

“We take every measure possible to ensure that our grapes are treated as nature intended and what’s good for our grapes is also good for our environment”
-Eric J Malinski Vice President Piattelli Vineyards.

Great to see Piattelli putting real resources into wastewater treatment—that’s the kind of on-the-ground sustainability that makes a difference. I’ve been looking into similar systems myself and found a helpful comparison tool at https://perchance-ai-image.com
